TheBattles of Nutrition

Help right now

You do not have to wait

If you are struggling, or worried about someone, please reach out today. These services are free and there to listen.

If you are worried about your feed, tube or line

Contact your own nutrition team or their out of hours number. If you have a temperature, shivers, or feel suddenly unwell, especially after connecting a feed, do it straight away.

If you feel very unwell, confused or are struggling to breathe, call 999 and tell them you are on artificial nutrition and have a central line or feeding tube.

If a gastrostomy tube comes out, contact your team or hospital at once. The hole can begin to close within hours.

If you are struggling with how you feel

Talking to your GP is a good first step. In England you can also refer yourself for NHS Talking Therapies. Your nutrition team can often arrange psychology support too.

If you are thinking about ending your life, please call Samaritans on 116 123 now, or 999 if you are in danger.
